Creative Artsy CD

This is a really cool wedding Cd. I love how artsy it is. All the different images work so well together and blend right in with one another. It is difficult to understand what the Cd is actually for, but I figured it is a wedding CD because the guy and girl on bottom are hugging and their initials right above them. I like the colors a lot tho and how all the colors are up in the left hand corner and drag your eye to the bottom right corner. It works pretty well and is very creative.

Bad Cd Design

This CD just isn't working. It is like they had no clue how to use photoshop. Of course it was probably made way earlier than today but its hard to even tell what is going on in the picture, and is the guy suppose to be coming out of the water? Its is confusing. Also the typography isn't the best, I don't like how the word "med" is lopsided. Everything should be going one position. I like the variation in the type, but it needs more work.

Sweet Company Cd

I like the back of this CD. I love the tan writing on the black. It is a very nice contrast. and The type up top definitely gives you the feel of country and the images pasted on make it look like they were pinned up to some board. I like how it all ties in together and that the images are old looking as well. Every thing is pretty readable. I am glad they chose only to make sweet company is the script font unlike the rest. It would have been very hard to read. Overall I think this works out fine.

chicken CD

This is a really cool Chicken CD. MY mom would freak out over it. She is in love with Chickens. I love the coloring in it and how it all ties in together so well. I like how the hole of the CD is the eye of the chicken. I think the contrasting colors with the blue and orange also really work well together. It is a very well done CD and the Typography is even cute to match the whole thing

Drawn Cd case

This is a really neat design! I love how it all ties in together with the black and gray color scheme. The whole thing looks like it was drawn directly on the page. I love all the die-cuts and how it unfolds making an awesome image and something you really want to keep looking at. It is really visually interesting and even the typography looks like it was handwritten inside the case. I like it a lot

The Simpsons CD

This is very clever! I love how you immediately see the oink donut and associate it with the Simpsons. At least i did! I love how the actual case that holds the CD is a donut case. and when you open it up the image on the CD is the donut being bitten into. the booklet and the donut Cd get place into a box and the box resembles that of a donut box. I love how it all ties in so well together and it looks very nice and neat.

Ruggid CD

The back of this CD works very nice. I love the tie in of all the different colors. It is a very strong color scheme. black and white do so well together and throwing in red real catches someones eye. I like how they use a really dark gray instead of a black tho. It all works so nicely together. The right side is kind of random. The Geffen records symbol kind of throws off the image. It is very modern looking and professional when the rest is dark and ruggid.

Back of CD-yellow text

The back of this CD works out pretty well. It is very readable and the names of the song really stick on with the bright yellow contrast on the black. The pictures fits very nicely on the page and leaves enough black room above and below it for extra text. The bright yellow isn't my favorite, but I guess it works with what the band is trying to sell.

BLUE NOTE-back of CD

This is a very simple back of a CD case. Its blue because of the name of the band. Makes sense. It is very plain looking with a little illustration on the bottom, but the text is pretty readable which is very important. I do like how at every different song name they changed the colors varying from black to light blue. you do kind of have to squint to see what it is saying because the kerning is really far apart from each other, but i think it is over all pretty readable.

Muse the 2nd law

Once again I really like Muse's CD cover. It really draws my eye into it. The colors are beautiful and I love the contrast with the black. I feel like if this was sitting on a shelf, people would see it immediately. I love how the image is questionable to what it is so it makes you look at it longer. I also really like the typography in the big black open space under the name of Muse. I like how it all spaces out and its only three letters for each word.

Muse

This is really cool. I love muse and the bright bold colors really stick out to me. For some reason I love colors and I am instantly drawn to this. I love how each letter in the muse type is a different picture, but all together it sums up a whole aspect of different colors. I think this would work great with a gray and black color scheme. I would love to do something like this or even paint something like this. It really pops out to me.

CD eating hole

This is really cool CD. I really like how the whole is being incorporated into the image and he person is eating the whole. I like how the drawing it illustrated too. The bright colors really pop out and draws your eye to the image. I like the white space behind it as well. it works well with the rest. I am not entirely sure what this image is speaking for, but i can tell its is probably for a band just because of its goofiness.

CD cover with Matching CD

I really like how these two interact with eachother. It's basically pretty much copied from cover to CD. So maybe they could of been at least a little bit more creative. But its nice to open up a case and see that you are looking at the same thing in a CD and will be able to understand what the CD is telling you. I do believe thay could have changed the inside a little bit but it overall in my opinion I believe it works fine.

CD Cover with buildings

This is a neat cover. I like how the tops of the building are peaking through the bottom of the cover. It would be cool to use a picture of the carroll campus and have it along the bottom of the case but some how tie in my color scheme from my kiosk into the case. I really want my case to capture the eye of someone, and lead them to think Carroll is really cool and fun and pretty and so on.

Female CD case

I really like the typography on this CD case. The colors all mesh well together. I really like the warm colors and I feel like it really sticks out to females, with its small typography and the female illustration dancing. I like the open space behind the female dancer. The tan color is really pretty and even though the text is small and colors are kind of similar to background, it is still easy to read.

Simple CD case

This is a cool CD. It is simple. It is not eye catching to me, but it does the job. It has a simple design going along the Cd and want to look away because the text to me is boring. I feel like the text should be on the dover or the inside cover. I feel like the actual CD should be could looking because that will the be the last thing the person sees when they put the CD in to watch whatever pops up. But this does work and I like the color scheme. I like the open white space. It works but its not the best (in my opinion).

Green CD

This is a neat CD case and cover too! I like this idea. I love how the bold colors contrast each other and the green really stick out. I could do something like this for my Carroll Community Cd. It would tie in with my kiosk because in my kiosk I used a color scheme of black, grays, and white. I could do something like this using that color scheme and it could still grab the attention of the person holding it. I want my design to be cool looking and this right here is a start.

Fleet Boxes CD

I really like this one! I love the Cd cover. It obviously has been cut out and we aren't allowed to do that with out cases but it is very clean and cool looking. I like how the case is triangular then and gray and black. Then you look at the CD and it is covered with triangular pieces but it colorful. It is neat how you see then when you put it inside that case. It is a really neat design. I think it would be so cool to design Indie/Rock/alternative CD's. They would be so cool looking and for some reason this one really catches my eye. I like it a lot!

Visa Cd Case

This CD is very profession al looking. You can tell it is done for a bigger company than for a band or something like that. It uses a sharper and more cleaner imagery and has a professional looking font. It is obviously for Visa which of course is professional. It is cool how the CD inside matches the CD case. I like the Big open white space. I learned that designers are scared of big open white spaces, and need to not be. So I think they did a good job leaving the rest of the CD white with the ribbon going across and a nice little tag hanging off of it like a present.

Cool CD design

This is a cool CD case. it is very clever. I like how they took the circle and used it in the design. I know most people do that but I like it and I want to do something like that for my case as well. I like how he made the circle the top of his pipe/bowl thingy. It is a cool illustration and I believe it catches anyones eye to look at it and determine what it is. I want my CD case to do that. But in a more professional way, since it will be a college based promotion CD.

Beautiful Photography Website

AHHH I love how this home page for this website looks. I love the photo this photographer took. The colors in it are beautiful. I love how they match up the type to a certain color theme. The typography to me is awesome and it is very professional looking. This kind of stuff grabs my attention. Really clean and sharp looking. It makes a piece look so much more professionl. I love the font choice in this piece. The only thing that is bugging me right now the the name in the top right corner. I don't like how its blending into the tree and the sky. But overall I really like this Homepage and I think it works wonderfully for a photographer.

Wood Navigation Bar

This is a pretty neat navigation bar. It is duplicating a piece of wood. I could see this being used to a school classroom website to represent the outline of a chalkboard or even for a hardwire website. The person who created it did a good job making it look like wook with the colors added to the navigation bar and using that dark brown in the background as well. It doesn't specify anywhere that it is supposed to be mocking wood, but i have a strong sense it is. I think its cool to theme your navigation bar to your website and this is done very well here.

Lightbulb website

This is a really cool looking website. Our focus in this class is Kiosk's but looking at websites help give me and idea of what I want to to. I love the dark look to this piece. I love how the lightbulb represents and idea and how the reflection is giving off a gold color onto the other lightbulbs. It is very clever because the name of the gold club is called Golden Ocala. They did a wonderful job choosing the colors carefully and picking out an image that really bring together this website. I also love how they added the aqua blue! All the colors in this stand out beautifully to me and I love how it is done. I'd like to create something like this.

Beach photos

I really like how the buttons are on this website. All the photos can be seen as thumbnails inside a black gradient space. Even though all the pictures are of the beach, it follows a very warm and gorgeous color scheme. It looks very professional to me. I like how it looks a lot and I want to keep navigating through the website because of it. I think that is very important when planning out you website or kiosk, because you want to draw people in and wanting to see more.

Cool Navigation Bar

This is a really cool navigation bar. I really like how it looks like it is lighting up when you scrub over the top of the button. It reminds me of techno type computer based music. Its very cool how the navigation bar also looks somewhat 3 dimensional. This would be really cool to use in the future in a music website or something. It is aesthetically pleasing to look at and keeps the viewer interested.

10 tips on audio

http://www.poynter.org/how-tos/newsgathering-storytelling/173082/10-tips-for-using-audio-more-effectively-in-multimedia-stories/

This is a really cool website that gives you ten tips on how to use audio more efficiently when making when making a video piece. There are usually four type of sounds used when making video pieces: Ambient, interview clips, voice-overs, and Natural sounds. It is very good to figure out what you need to aim towards before putting the sound in your piece. This website is helpful in telling you what works and what doesn't. I will have to remember to look back on this piece when dealing with audio, because it is a large part of your piece and doing a poorly done audio can turn off the whole audience.

Bamboo and Orange Commercials

http://s312920572.onlinehome.us/tkodesign/wordpress/multimedia/

This website shows two different multimedia pieces that were made for certain companies. the orange one i would say is much better than the bamboo one. It is cool because I learned somewhat who to edit the text the way it was edited in the orange commercial. I thought the typography worked better in the orange commercial, but i wasn't too sure about the clapping at the beginning and end. In the bamboo piece, I really didn't like the randomness of it. I think it could work a lot more on the typography and pieces didn't lay on the screen in a very pretty well. their wasn't any flow, they just looked plopped on there. I think It could use a lot of work. Although i did like the music in it and it really did a good job matching with the culture in which you find most bamboo.

Garage Band for Audi Commercial

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8E2MmfqrIQ
This person made audio in garageband for this car commercial. It was a project they had to do! I think the person did a wonderful job making the music go well with the piece. The music they picked at the beginning is very popular in garageband i feel like. I hear it a lot, but it worked well and I think the person did very strongly in making it match the video. I would maybe change the beginning part to something different since that sound is very popular but besides that I personally think everything else works very well.

Kiosk scroll overs

http://www.campusdish.com/en-US/CSNE/Vassar/Locations/TheKiosk.htm

This is a cool kiosk. I like how it is set up. I want my kiosk to look similar to this with the buttons on the left side and a picture on the top middle with text underneath. I can start to see how adobe flash is used when scrolling over certain buttons. When I scroll over the left hand text on this page, the background box turns yellow and I can easily tell that is a link to something else. Also at the top of the page there are words such as "Menus, Location, meal plans, etc." When i scroll over top of them, little picture appear that you would normally see associated with those words. I really like how that happens, and it is cool because even though i am very new to flash, I can kind of see how that was made possible.

After Effects basic edits

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVDIzptRU9Q
I was looking around to see what all you can do in after effects. I really like making videos and I finally downloaded after effects onto my computer with premiere and want to learn how to use premiere in editing the videos I make. I look up some stuff on youtube and saw this. Even though you know it is edited in and the colors don't match up right with his piece it would still be so cool to learn how to do these basic edits. Im really into video and feel like I could do some crazy awesome stuff If I learned how to use the softwares to their maximum potential. I can't wait till I get to that point.

Multimedia video using Multimedia

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7P-fwgUYbg
This video is very cool! It tells you what multimedia is by using different kinds of multimedia. The guy uses stop motion which to describe what multimedia is. He explains that you use audio, text, pictures, video and just two or more elements put together to make a multimedia piece. He made the audio sound like an old nintendo pac man game. It was really cool how the sounds match up with the post-its he used for his stop motion. So much time must have been put into this but it makes for a really awesome piece. It explains what multimedia is while using it and does a great job at it.

Multimedia video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmMvcJHS9Hs
This is a really cool video using all different types of multimedia. It looks really fun to make. I like how the music goes with the different pictures and scenes used throughout the piece and I really like how the camera moved. Also they integrated home owned stuff like leg go toys and plugs and so on. It really worked well in the piece and looked really cool. It be cool to learn how to make something like this.

Kiosk with big buttons

This is what I think of when I see a kiosk. Big buttons that are noticeable for everyone to read ad really easy to move through. I want mine to be super simple like this. I would stick with the school colors and not be so vibrant, but I would have buttons that are really important for new students to see on the home screen and maybe a little bit of text but not to much, and it will be more detailed in text once you click on the button. I really want it to be simple and readable. I cant stress that enough. This one is nice, except for the super bright colors. It looks like it is marketed more towards girls.

CBC college Kiosk

http://www.columbiabasin.edu/index.aspx?page=5

This college kiosk website is very mature looking. To me it isn't as simple as I personally would like. I think if the fonts were different sizes on the buttons it would work a little bit better. My eye kind of gets lost with all the information on this site. I do like the boxes on the left side. The are very forward. That is something I want my kiosk to look like. very forward and to the point. This kiosk is good though if it is targeting older audience. I want mine to target younger students and be more fun looking.

Basic Kiosk

http://lowercolumbia.edu/students/student-kiosk/

This kiosk is very simple. I went onto the website and it seemed very understandable and easy to follow along. The buttons were really big to see and very readable. Other kiosk I looked it they were fine but not as simple. To me, this kiosk is very simple and works well for students and parents who have no clue what they are looking for. The layout of this kiosk makes it really easy for a person to follow along. I will probably do something more simple like this with my kiosk. especially since my video and music I have made already is targeted to new students and high schoolers, I want my kiosk to be very basic.

Sylvan Commercial

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9d5RaMu04A
In this sylvan commercial, the music is very subtle and calming. This type of music is appropriate for the piece because in the commercial it mainly markets toward parents whose children are struggling in school. It has some peaceful piano at the beginning and formulates into some nice strings giving it a very mature sound to it. They keep the sounds repeating at the end and not to random because the commercial was only about 30 seconds long.

Audio in Depression Commercial

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVNZ8ZBP5gY
This is a commercial based on depression. The music chosen is very appropriate for this commercial. It is very smooth and classical sounding. It starts off with a smooth piano and a lil crash comes in and more of a beat is added but it is still very calm and smoothing. The sounds repeat about three times. It is not noticeable though because of the talking going on about the medicine. It sounded very nice.

Music in Promo video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvgeQUtmF3M
This college promo definitely uses garage band but I think the person who made it did a fairly good job. The music matches up well with the words and the people used in the video. With the right equipment this video could have been so much more cooler looking. I really like how the music starts off almost suspenseful sounding and gets louder and louder. I actually really liked the audio in this piece.

Garage Band-more advance than I thought

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KC5WSS0UNjM
This is crazy! I did not you could make full songs using garage band. I have always messed with it before but I only used their sounds they already had. I am not sure though if a person recorded the sounds and out them in garage band themselves or found the sounds on garage band. I am pretty much garage band illiterate but I will be learning more about it soon. It's cool though. I love music and have played around with it some but it'd be awesome to make a full blown song.

Garage Band Electric Song

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USxPB04wceE
This guy made a song using garage band. It sound call electrical but it is a good job! he made the sounds go well together and I like how at the beginning it started out quiet and got louder. That is something I will have to look into for my music piece I am doing for my video. I want the whole song tie in together like this one and not be so random. Because with all the sounds in garage band I am sure it is very easy to get carried away and make random songs.

Students Studying

Having a picture of the students in their everyday life studying is probably important to add in my promo video. This picture has the student together and the feeling you get when seeing this is very proactive and friendly. I need to remember these kind of things when I take my photos around Carroll Community. I want to show how friendly and nice the students are here and how you can really excel in your studies being at a community college.

Computer Image

This image has good lighting and I like how it shows other student on the computer. I think with my pictures I may blur out pieces of it and focus solely on one thing and draw the camera into it and zoom out focusing on another piece. This picture helps me see how I should take the photo when I go out and shoot some of around the school.

College Photo of Happy Students

In my college Promo Video I want to capture the life of the students here at Carroll Community. I want people to know that the students here can still have fun just like how this picture is. It shows all the students participating happily with their fellow college students and I feel that this picture alone gives you a feeling that people enjoy the college they are intending. I need to make sure I capture that same feeling int he images I use for my promo video.

Temple University Promo Video

http://www.youtube.com/user/TempleUniversity?v=GiClMkivUt0

The person who made this promotional video did an awesome job with using effects to make it look like images were being projected onto the college building and students were looking up to it. It gave you a feeling that the college was really powerful and would help you get where you want to go. I think it does a good job keeping the viewer interested in what the school has to offer.

Gatorade Inside Edge

This video is just like I want to do for my college promotional video. I want to zoom into an object and end up somewhere else when zooming out of it. I love how this commercial is done. It is so clean and I love how it all tied together in the end. It helps me think of how I can tie in my piece together to make it flow smoothly with the rest of the images I use. I want to keep my audience captivated to what is going to come next just like this commercial did!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jy8T52dM4Gg

Earth-Zoom out

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQzx9MrGHYU

This video is really cool because it constantly zooms out of planet earth. I am thinking of doing a video zooming into a piece and zooming out with the piece in a different place. and I came across this video and even though it isn't what I am doing it is still really cool to watch how massive the universe is and I like how it zoomed out so smoothly. That is something That I will have to do with my video.

Stop Motion Water

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSzCLf8tjP4

This Stop motion video is so clean! I love how he blurs out the background at the beginning and focuses on the water dripping out of the faucet. You can tell he put a lot of hard work and patience into this. It is so cool to see other people's stop motion videos, because it is cool to see how clean they do it and how clean yours is supposed to look as well. I love how he used clay as water in this whole peice. It was very creative. I liked it a lot.

Bad College Promo Video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXe0RGeQz3E
This College Promo Video is not the best in my opinion. the school itself looks so dark and dingy. The text used on the clips takes you eye away from the image which is really important. The text should of been shorter and more to the point. The places filmed didn't really do the school justice and the people didn't seem to happy about the school. The font is also not the best and they should have focused a little more on the typography of this peice. I think a lot more work could've been done on this video to make it look more appealing.

Stop Motion-Pes

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBjLW5_dGAM
This guy is awesome at stop motion! I have seen a few of his videos and he really takes it to the extreme. He must have a lot of patience for this kind of stuff and his work is awesome! He is really creative and thinks of really neat things to make the videos much more interesting. His technique is on a far more advanced level than many people have, but he is fun to look at and inspiring. He makes others want to do awesome stop motion videos as well!

South Devon College Promo Video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vKjRmlSJ_o

In this video, It really focuses on the Student life. It shows a person who has never attended this college the amount of fun these students can have. The images in this video range from school activities, outside activities to the different studies a person can accomplish. I like how this video is made up because to me it targets a new student, whether it may be a high school student or a transfer student. The students displayed in the video also look really fun and friendly which is also a huge part of entering a new college. Everyone wants to be able to make new friends. They show different parts of the library and gym, and they are all ideas I can use in my own promotional video.
